The Siemens Echomax XRS-5 is a rugged, non-contact ultrasonic level transducer engineered for reliable, continuous level measurement of liquids and slurries in challenging wastewater and industrial environments. Its 10° narrow beam angle provides accurate measurements in confined spaces such as narrow lift stations, wet wells, flumes, weirs, and filter beds, while advanced echo processing delivers dependable performance in the presence of turbulence, foam, and obstructions.

Designed for harsh operating conditions, the XRS-5 features a CSM rubber sensing face and PVDF copolymer housing that resist methane, saltwater, caustics, and other aggressive chemicals commonly found in wastewater applications. The IP68-rated, hermetically sealed construction allows the transducer to withstand full submersion during flood conditions when used with an optional submergence shield, ensuring continuous operation and reliable level indication.

Compatible with the full range of Siemens ultrasonic controllers, the XRS-5 supports applications ranging from simple pump control and high/low level alarms to advanced systems with communications, telemetry, and SCADA integration.

The Echomax XRS-5 emits ultrasonic pulses toward the surface of the process media and measures the time required for the reflected echo to return. A connected Siemens controller uses this information to calculate the distance to the material surface, providing continuous, accurate level measurement without contacting the liquid or slurry.
