The Flowline EchoBeam LR80 is an 80 GHz FMCW radar level transmitter that provides reliable, non-contact level measurement for both liquids and bulk solids. Designed for general-purpose industrial and municipal applications, the LR80 measures liquid levels up to 32.8 ft (10 m) and solids up to 16.4 ft (5 m), delivering dependable performance regardless of most process or environmental conditions.
Powered by advanced 80 GHz radar technology, the EchoBeam LR80 is unaffected by vapor, condensation, temperature changes, and many process conditions that can impact other sensing technologies. Its 8° narrow beam angle enables accurate level measurement in tanks, sumps, lift stations, bins, and other confined spaces while minimizing interference from vessel walls and internal obstructions.
Configuration is quick and convenient using Bluetooth® 5.0 and the Flowline LevelTap™ mobile app, allowing users to view live level data, verify device status, and adjust settings from ground level or a nearby catwalk without opening the enclosure. The rugged PVDF antenna and enclosure, combined with an IP68-rated design, provide long-term durability in corrosive and harsh outdoor environments.
The EchoBeam LR80 uses frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar technology to transmit a continuous 80 GHz radar signal toward the material surface. By measuring the frequency difference between the transmitted and reflected signals, the transmitter accurately calculates the distance to the material and continuously outputs level data. Unlike ultrasonic sensors, radar technology is largely unaffected by vapor, temperature changes, condensation, or process noise, providing consistent performance in a wide range of applications.
